Midweek Update

Hello Las Cruces,

Hope you have a fun filled or relaxing weekend and Memorial Day. Can you believe it’s the end of the May already?

You know many complain about the wind here in Las Cruces but I will take some windy days over those tornadoes happening just east of us any day. In fact that is one of the reasons we relocated to this area… a lack of major weather events including very little snow and over 300 days of sunshine.

A friend once shared “we have 3 months or so of really hot weather, a few months of wind and the rest of the time is wonderful and enjoyable”. No place is perfect but there is so much to love about Las Cruces!

El Charro Mexican Grill

Recently we tried out El Charro Mexican Grill and loved it. The white sauce is definitely a favorite. Read reviews online here and check out our post about El Charro in my Facebook post here and let us know what you think.

New Outdoor Recreation Area Proposed

Doña Ana County received $85,366 to design and develop a new park and trail on 20 acres near the Rio Grande River at the Shalem Colony Bridge in Las Cruces.

The park aims to transform an area previously used for illegal activities into a thriving community space, providing recreational opportunities and amenities for residents and visitors.

The International Boundary and Water Commission, the landowner, is working to limit vehicular access and protect the floodplain vegetation. Engineering firm Wilson & Company, Inc. is refining the master plan design.

Public meetings will be held as the project progresses. For more information, call 575-525-6105. More Info
