Las Cruces is serving that golden-hour soundtrack we wait all summer for — patio twang, cooler evenings, and more live stages than you can shake a banjitar at.

Las Cruces, don’t sleep on ACID WESTERN—a gloriously strange, desert-soaked night where our own Betty Benedeadly brings her twang-edelic, banjitar-fueled sound to the historic Rio Grande Theatre. Her cinematic mix of experimental folk, surf rock, bluegrass, and spaghetti-western weirdness is basically the soundtrack for a moonlit drive through the Organ Mountains—if David Lynch had the aux cord.

She joins world-champion trick roper Chris McDaniel and filmmaker Dr. Julia Smith for this one-night Wild West arts experience on Saturday, September 12, at 8 p.m at the Rio Grande Theatre. Tickets are $22, with doors at 7 p.m.

Las Cruces, this is a big one: WAR is bringing “Low Rider,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Spill the Wine,” and a whole heap of timeless groove to the Rio Grande Theatre for two unusually intimate downtown shows. The legendary funk-rock crew plays Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, and honestly, seeing a band this iconic in our historic little theater beats squinting at a Jumbotron from the back of some giant arena every time.

This is not a tribute band… this is the legendary group War! Get Your tickets now. How blessed we are to have a venue like The Rio Grande Theatre in Las Cruces for events like this.
