TOGETHER WITH

Hello {{First Name|Las Cruces}}, I started this newsletter because I kept having the same disappointing moment: I’d stumble across an event that felt perfect for me, only to see that it had happened weeks earlier.

How was I missing these things when I’m on social media nearly every day? From day one, my mission has been to get timely event information into your hands before it’s too late. If you discover even a single event here that you end up attending and enjoying, that’s more than justifies the effort 😍

And yesterday I received an email that reminded me that not everyone is on Facebook or use social media. How cool is this!

I am spreading the word!!!! You are a tremendous service especially for those of us who haven't got Facebook or are not on other social media. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Help Shape Doña Ana County’s New Recreation Centers

Click this image or the link below for more info

Doña Ana County residents are being asked to help shape two brand‑new recreation centers that will serve the north and south parts of the county, and a series of drop‑in sessions this month is your chance to say what you want to see there—whether that’s playgrounds, athletic fields, or flexible community spaces.

These centers are funded by the recently approved GO Bond and are long‑term investments in youth, families, and quality of life in communities like Anthony, Mesquite, Doña Ana, Radium Springs, and Hatch. More Info & Online Survey

Mesa Grande Extension

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts. Here are the results from the survey.

I am going to leave this here in case anyone else wishes to share their thoughts. Who knows if anyone from the City will see this but I think it’s good to hear the different opinions. There are a few things that I didn’t think about that makes sense.

The city has a $61 million federal grant lined up and is asking the state for $15 million in matching funds to build the corridor. The route is envisioned as a continuous four‑lane roadway with six east–west connections to improve overall traffic flow on the East Mesa and providing an alternate route to existing congested corridors.

Plans include protected bicycle lanes and sidewalks along a tree lined corridor to support safer walking and biking. The project also ties in “required housing development” along the route, with city leaders emphasizing its potential to boost quality of life and economic development in the growing Mesa Grande area.

The proposed extension would link Mesa Grande to Lohman at Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and add new extensions and connections at Sonora Springs Avenue, Calle Jitas Boulevard, Northrise Drive, and Sedona Hills Parkway along the corridor.

What do you think? Sound like a good thing for the City? How could this impact you?
