  • Tlazoh Amozochitl | Branigan Cultural Center | through June 22th | Examining pre-contact Mesoamerican culture while recognizing the influences of Spanish and American cultures upon them. Kindergarten through 5th grade students at Raices del Saber Xinachtli Community School learned about the history of corn, chocolate, and butterflies through traditional Mesoamerican stories. They then created artwork that reflected those stories. Come see over 40 pieces of artwork created by these multicultural students!

  • Mata Ortiz: Highlights from The Lysbeth Warren Anderson Collection | New Mexico State University Art Gallery | Through July 20, 2024 | Free |   Witness the evolution of Mata Ortiz pottery! This exhibit showcases contemporary ceramics from over 25 artists, blending tradition with modern innovation.   • White Sands National Park is cancelling the Full Moon Night event scheduled for Thursday May 23 at 8:00 pm as we continue to support the recovery effort of the recent US Air Force mishap in the park. While we are unable to host this event and apologize for the inconvenience, we look forward to hosting the next Full Moon Night event scheduled for Friday June 21, 2024, at 8:15 pm. Park hours on Thursday May 23 are 7:00 am - 1 hour after sunset.

  • Las Cruces Youth Try-It-Out Mountain Biking | Dona Ana Trailhead | Saturday May 25th | 9 am - 1 pm | Join the New Mexico Interscholastic Cycling League's Try-It-Out event at Doña Ana Trail Head, open to students entering grades 6-12 and adults interested in youth mountain biking. No experience necessary, and bikes and helmets are available upon request.

  • Prehistoric Trackways Guided Hike | Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks & BLM | Ridgeline Parking Lot | Embark on a journey back in time on a 1.5-mile guided hike that leads you through the ice age and all the way back to the era before dinosaurs (making it a total of 3 miles round trip). Led by Amber Giove, Park Ranger | No registration necessary
