TOGETHER WITH

Hello {{First Name|Las Cruces}},

Las Cruces is the only city in the world that has a Chile Drop for New Years Eve. When the chile drops you know another year has passed. So I guess it’s goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026.

I can only hope that 2025 was good to you and your family and wish you the best in the coming year! Happy New Year!

New Outdoor Art Sculpture by NMSU Alum

I do some metal art myself and I am loving the new outdoor art sculptures that the City of Las Cruces has been installing. A NMSU art student, Kayla Blundell, who loves working with metal created a piece called Desert Kinship and installed it at La Buena Vida Park. Check out the article in the Bulletin.

Local Brewery Closing

Bosque Brewing Co. is closing its doors at all locations in New Mexico including the one here in Las Cruces, Bosque Telshor Public House.

Another Local Business Closes: Downtown Blues Coffee has also recently closed their doors.

Toys In The Attic Exhibit

Maybe you will enjoy Toys in the Attic, a temporary exhibit, at the Branigan Cultural Center running through January 24, 2026, featuring historic toys from the early 1900s to the mid-1970s.

Upcoming BLM Guided Hikes and Programs

Check out the upcoming guided hikes and programs offered by the BLM. Some require pre-registration and many fill up in advance so check out the offerings and sign up for the ones that you are interested in.

There is a new hike added at Aden Crater coming up on Jan 9th with BLM Wildlife Biologist Meredith so check it out as it should be interesting.

Restaurant Spotlight: Wavez Food Hawaiian Cajun

Wavez Food brings bold Hawaiian-Cajun fusion to Las Cruces with juicy grilled meats, crispy katsu chicken, and spicy poke bowls piled high over rice with generous portions. Build your own bowl with favorites like Aloha Chicken, Kalbi ribs, Cajun mac and cheese, and 808 mac salad, or grab a stacked katsu or Aloha sandwich with Cajun fries on the side. Locally owned by former NMSU athletes, the vibe is upbeat, welcoming, and perfect for anyone craving island comfort food with a Cajun kick.

With a 4.7/5 rating Wavez looks like it’s worth checking out. Menu
