I noticed a post on Reddit asking “What's going on this weekend - no hotels available”. Does anyone know why there are only a few hotel rooms in town this weekend. The Ramada wants $700 something for 1 night Saturday 5/1-Sunday 5/2. Is there a convention or something I'm not aware of?

Yes…the culprit is The BTS concert in El Paso

Las Cruces celebrated a major milestone on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly renovated La Llorona Park. Mayor Eric Enriquez and District 4 Councilor Johana Bencomo joined community members at 10:30 a.m. to unveil nearly $2 million in improvements.

The upgrades include new inclusive playground equipment, modern restroom facilities, and refreshed sidewalks and benches, transforming one of the community's long-standing parks into a beautified space that demonstrates the city's commitment to its residents.

La Llorona Park connects to one of the best local hiking/biking/walking trails in Las Cruces.

Get ready for the Mesilla Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Mesilla Plaza on May 2nd & 3rd. Mesilla Plaza will be the place to be for Cinco de Mayo!
