Hello {{First Name|Neighbors}}
Good Morning Las Cruces!
There’s something special about these late-summer days — school’s back, the evenings are golden, and people are out doing the things that make this place feel like home.
Pure Acoustic Magic at the Black Box
The Black Box Theatre is bringing pure acoustic magic downtown with the “For the Love of the Black Box Acoustic Music Series.” Three intimate nights of world-class playing—classical guitar, storytelling, bluegrass, and more—without the usual bar chatter or stadium echo.
Tue, Aug 18, 7 pm – Craig Winston (classical guitar) + Randy Granger
Thu, Aug 27, 7 pm – Bob Hull & Chris Sanders with Tim May and Steve Smith
Sun, Sept 13, 3 pm – Bree Gordon + Room to Roam + Wil Maring & Robert Bowlin
Every ticket helps Mesilla Valley Community of Hope’s Tents to Rents campaign, turning temporary shelter into real housing. Grab a seat (and do some good) Tickets $20.
BLM Patio Chats
UPDATED - The BLM has a series of free Patio Chats starting this Friday August 14th through Saturday August 29th. What a great program and resource for the local community. Check out the Chats
Santa Fe Brewing Eyes the Old Bosque Brewing Spot Near NMSU
Santa Fe Brewing is moving into the former Bosque Brewing space on University Avenue and seeking City Council approval Monday for a new Las Cruces taproom with on-site pours, package sales, and patio service. Read the article on Organ Mountain News
Doña Ana’s “Día de los Muertos Fiesta” Cancelled This Year
The Doña Ana Village Historic Preservation Committee just canceled its annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta — the biggest free public event in the oldest Colonia in Southern New Mexico — after what they’re calling an administrative mishap, leaving vendors, nonprofits, and the community scrambling. North Alameda & Hoagland Is Getting a Much-Needed Upgrade
If you’ve ever navigated the North Alameda Boulevard and Hoagland Road intersection and thought, “Well, this could be less of an adventure,” help may be on the way.
The City is planning upgrades including new pavement, curb and gutter, ADA-accessible sidewalks and ramps, street lighting, and new traffic signals.
Residents and nearby businesses can get the details—and make their voices heard—at a public meeting Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5:30–7 p.m. in Rooms 2007B and 2007C on the second floor of Las Cruces City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
Tip: Don’t miss Continuous Sky this Friday at Grounded
I recently caught Continuous Sky live and they are something special. They play their own music, and the instrumentals are tightly intertwined—they build on each other in a way that feels thoughtful and immersive rather than just a typical set. These guys don’t play locally all that often, so this is a good chance to check them out.
Friday, August 21 at Grounded. Worth making time for if you’re looking for original local music that actually rewards listening. More Info

📍 Own a Las Cruces business?
Real talk: 10,000+ locals open this newsletter for exactly one reason — to figure out where to spend their money in Las Cruces. Restaurants, dentists, Home Services, you name it. More than half of them open every single issue (most email lists would kill for a third of that).
I keep ad space deliberately scarce — just a few slots per issue, one business per category — so the folks who get in actually get noticed. A couple of those slots just opened up.
If you've been lighting money on fire with Facebook ads, consider this your sign.
Thanks for reading Live Love Las Cruces today.
If you found something useful, please share it with the person who still waves at every single car on the road like they’re the mayor of the whole Mesilla Valley.
