Looking for something out of the ordinary to do this weekend? The 47th Annual Great American Duck Race is already underway (through Sunday) and the main action hits hard Saturday and Sunday—wet and dry track racing at McKinley Duck Downs, the Tournament of Ducks Parade, carnival, vendors, and all the usual chaos that makes this one of southern New Mexico’s quirkiest traditions. Family Day Fiesta hits the Mesilla Plaza this Saturday, August 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free mariachi, folklórico dancing, kid activities, and the Wonders on Wheels mobile museum. Bring a hat and sunscreen and enjoy the fourth year of this local favorite while the Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site stays open & free all day. Check out the Schedule
