Writers meet fans. Fans meet writers. Writers meet writers.

The second annual Southern New Mexico Book Festival brings authors, readers, publishers, and book lovers together for a free day devoted to the written word. It runs 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Doña Ana Community College’s East Mesa Campus (DASR Building, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd).

Las Cruces Writers has long operated on a “writers helping writers” idea. This festival is that idea made public — authors sharing craft, nonprofits putting books in kids’ hands, and readers walking out with stories they didn’t know they needed.

Dates for this event have changed. Originally scheduled for September 11-13th has been rescheduled for October 16th-18th.

Sunday: Soak in the day with the Mark Fowler Group offering up smooth, soulful, and the electrifying sounds of live jazz.
