It's true crime meets atmospheric live performance in a speakeasy setting, right here at the Rio Grande Theatre in Las Cruces with 5 shows July 30th & 31st . Tickets are $55–$85, and you must be 21+ with valid ID to attend.

A 5-Star PreK Program, Totally Free, Starting July 27

If you have a four-year-old at home, this one's for you. St. Paul's Child Development Center in downtown Las Cruces is now enrolling for their FREE New Mexico PreK program, and spaces are limited. Your little one needs to turn 4 by September 1 to qualify, and classes kick off July 27 at their 225 W. Griggs Ave. location.

It's a 5-star FOCUS-accredited program running Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3:30 PM — and wrap-around care is available through Universal Childcare Assistance for families who need full-day coverage. Reach out to [email protected] or call (575) 652-4682 to get your child enrolled.

Did you hear about the New World Screwworm?

New World Screwworm Awareness is New Mexico’s one-stop, “be alert, not alarmed” hub to help you spot, report, and treat this dangerous parasite before it harms livestock, wildlife, pets, or people.

It gives quick, plain-English guidance on what screwworm looks like, why it’s serious, and exactly who to call if you suspect a case — including vets, the Livestock Board, and NMDOH. More Info

📍 Own a Las Cruces business?

Real talk: 10,000+ locals open this newsletter for exactly one reason — to figure out where to spend their money in Las Cruces. Restaurants, dentists, HVAC, you name it. More than half of them open every single issue (most email lists would kill for a third of that).

I keep ad space deliberately scarce — just a few slots per issue, one business per category — so the folks who get in actually get noticed. A couple of those slots just opened up.

If you've been lighting money on fire with Facebook ads, consider this your sign.

That's the scoop for this issue!

Anyone need some free firewood? The trees are seasoned and dry but needs to be cut. If interested contact Charlie by email [email protected] or text only at 575-208-4177.
