Hello {{First Name|Las Cruces}},

Let’s make this week in Las Cruces stupidly good. Las Cruces is showing off this week — here’s where the magic’s happening.

Opening Reception - Land of the People: Naf'ole atsihem

Land of the People: Naf'ole atsihem opens with an intimate morning reception honoring the Piro‑Manso‑Tiwa Indian Tribe’s deep Borderland roots at Branigan Cultural Center this Saturday July 18, 9–11 am. More Info

Restore Your Historic Mesilla Property — For Free

If you own a property in the Mesilla Historic District or on the National Register of Historic Places, the Town of Mesilla has a rare opportunity you won't want to miss. Thanks to their newly eligible Certified Local Government (CLG) grant, qualifying residents can apply for funding to cover restoration, rehabilitation, or stabilization work on their historic structures — at no cost to them.

This isn't just a paint-and-patch situation. Grant funds are intended for real preservation work that keeps Mesilla's architectural character intact for generations to come. The catch? Funding is limited, and the application deadline is July 27th, 2026 at 5:00 PM — so don't sit on this one.

To find out if your property qualifies or to get started, email [email protected] or stop by Mesilla Town Hall to set up an appointment with Historic Preservation Specialist Liana Aguirre.

Competitive Pinball at Rad Retrocade

Competitive pinball is quietly turning Rad Retrocade into one of the most fun afternoons in Las Cruces. On Friday, July 25, the Southern New Mexico Pinball Club hosts its next tournament there, with registration at noon and play starting at 1 p.m. It’s IFPA‑sanctioned, so serious players can chase rankings, but organizer Steve Howard keeps it light with prizes, custom trophies, and even a championship belt so first‑timers, families, and die‑hards all feel welcome around the machines. Serial Killer Speakeasy

If you're drawn to the darker side of history, this one's for you. The Serial Killer Speakeasy is a 90-minute immersive theater experience that brings the chilling stories of Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy, and Gein to life on stage — paired with a curated tasting menu of four themed cocktails. It's true crime meets atmospheric live performance in a speakeasy setting, right here at the Rio Grande Theatre in Las Cruces with 5 shows July 30th & 31st . Tickets are $55–$85, and you must be 21+ with valid ID to attend.

📍 Own a Las Cruces business?

Real talk: 10,000+ locals open this newsletter for exactly one reason — to figure out where to spend their money in Las Cruces. Restaurants, dentists, Home Services, you name it. More than half of them open every single issue (most email lists would kill for a third of that).

I keep ad space deliberately scarce — just a few slots per issue, one business per category — so the folks who get in actually get noticed. A couple of those slots just opened up.

If you've been lighting money on fire with Facebook ads, consider this your sign.

That's the scoop for this issue!

Anyone need some free firewood? The trees are down, seasoned but needs to be cut. If interested contact Charlie by email [email protected] or text only at 575-208-4177.
