TOGETHER WITH

Hello {{First Name|Las Cruces}},

Welcome to the Live Love Las Cruces Local Events and Live Music Newsletter. We have some goodies for you this week!

Our 1st Meet & Greet

Meet & Greet at Madelyn’s in Mesilla

The day was supposed to be bright and sunny, but it turned cloudy and cool instead. Warm hearts made up for it, though. We had a really good time meeting new people and sharing stories. Since many of us had moved here from elsewhere, we asked everyone to write their first name and the state they came from on their name tag. It helped a lot—people connected quickly, and we started making plans to get together again. Building community one new friend at a time.

CM Adams, who was performing at Madelyn’s that day, joined us and shared his story: he describes himself as a hillbilly from Kentucky but spent a significant portion of his life in Venezuela. Sage Gentlewing and his wife Toni also spoke about Sage’s notable musical background, including opening for Janis Joplin and other well-known 1970s bands.

Joe Castillo and Ric Hernandez from The Destination Sports and Arts Complex on Lohman Ave shared their vision creating a setting for athletes, artists, musicians and others to work towards their goals in a safe environment.

We are grateful to Rebecca, Pamela, Shar, David, Joe and Kathy, Andrea, Joanne, my wife Barbara and everyone else who came out to support us. While I did not manage to note every attendee’s name, your presence at our first Meet & Greet meant a great deal!

February is “For The Love Of Art Month”

Art lovers will be excited to know that artists in Las Cruces are putting on an impressive art tour all month with 30+ studios open for your pleasure.

Delivery Glitch

For last Friday’s Local Events issue a number of newsletter subscribers didn’t get their newsletter until Saturday. I found out this was caused by a Microsoft outage that caused a deferred delivery for their Outlook, Hotmail, MSN etc domains. If this happens again just know you can always just go to our website to see the most recent issue. Sorry for this inconvenience. Thanks to GroundGirl for letting me know about this issue 🙂
